The output of the OMSK Tobacco Factory has long, and widely, been known in this country. People of the older generation well remember its cigarettes called “Belomorkanal”, “Pervomaiskiye”, “Kreml”, “Yermak”, etc.; their children recall the cigarettes without filters including “Prima”, “Astra” and “Polyot”; young people appreciate today’s brands with filters, such as “Super”, “Super-Prima”, “Prima”, “Kosmos”, “Novost’”, “Super light” and “Margo”.
The entire output of the OMSK Tobacco Factory is properly certified. It is produced on modern equipment made by some of the leading foreign firms. The high quality of the cigarettes and their original flavours are due to elite tobacco brands imported from India, Bulgaria, Greece, Indonesia and China; there are also tobaccos flavoured with extracts of flowers, almonds, cacao, chocolates.
New lines for production and for putting cigarettes into hard packs, and an installation for tobacco dipping and sweetening (raising its quality), have been brought into operation over the past few years. Modernization of the factory’s tobacco shop, a changeover to employment of modern technologies, preparation of tobacco so as to reduce the content of resins and nicotine in its smoke are on target.
The factory managers give much attention to equipment modernization and novel technologies.
The factory products are delivered to almost all regions of Russia through a network of Company outfits. Some of its products have been awarded diplomas and medals at numerous exhibitions and trade fairs. Thus, at the “Russian Food Commodities-99” the “Margo” cigarettes were awarded a silver medal while the cigarettes “Super” and “Super-Prima” won bronze medals.
