JSC “Industrial Trading Company “Yugra” was established by incorporation of the municipal baked products plant. The company’s majority shareholder (with 99.5 per cent of its shares) is the Government of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, represented by its Public Property Department. At present, the company’s authorized capital equals 50.1 million roubles.
For over 20 years now, the bakery has been producing breads and confectionery, and now, since 2000, its has been bottling pure drinking water, producing mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and pasta. In April 2001, it launched the production of vodka, and in the same month of next year, it started bottling drinking alcohol and took out a license to open an excise warehouse.
“Yugra” is the youngest producer of alcoholic drinks in Russia and the biggest single producer in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area. Its young age regardless, the company produces 11 quality vodkas. Its “Samotlor Soiree” brand won the gold medal for excellent quality and unmatched taste at the international “Prodexpo — 2002” exhibition fair, and its “Alyosha” brand won the gold medal at the international tasting “Drinks — St.Petersburg - 2002” competition.
The company is developing ever new kinds of alcoholic drinks and improving container appearance. In particular, it has launched the production of original top-quality vodka connoisseurs will be glad to buy as a souvenir or a gift to friends, in a carton to match, and is looking for new approaches in its public relations and marketing policy, expanding production, and boosting sales.
The area government’s budget for 2002 allots considerable outlays on a general renovation of the company, such as replacement of outdated machinery with new power-efficient imported equipment and launch of carbonated, mineral and sweetened water production.
The growing popularity of its products gives the company an incentive and strength to rapidly win leading positions in the food market.
